No Year 13 should leave the school on results day without having received advice or support if they need it, and furthermore, should have completed and submitted the 'destinations' form included in their results envelope before leaving the building. Please could Year 13 students also return textbooks and other resources loaned by the school on this morning.

University Applicants

Your UCAS Hub will start updating from 8.15am, showing if students have been accepted onto either their firm or insurance university choices, or in some cases neither of those options. This could suggest there is an issue with students' grades in that they have not met the entry criteria of the courses they've applied for, or it could be that the universities are still making a decision on whether to admit the students to courses.

Students are advised to log into UCAS track prior to 8.30am to see if their university application status has updated. However, students should remain calm as it can take UCAS a while to update as results day progresses. A reminder that school is open from 8.30am for both the collection of results and for students to receive any guidance they may need about their next steps.

Step by Step Student Guide

  1. Log on to UCAS track at 8.15am and check your application status.  UCAS might freeze, might not update your status straight away so do not panic!
  2. Collect A-Level results from school from 8.30am.  If you have no questions and your university place (or equivalent) is secure, return any textbooks and fill in the ‘destinations’ form before you leave.
  3. If you have a question about reviewing grades, speak to the teachers in the Academy who can advise you and Mrs Topping our exams officer.
  4. If it appears you do not have a university place, speak with Mrs Veide or Miss Robb who will be in the Atrium or the common room.
  5. If you need help with speaking to a university (for example, you have missed out on your first-choice course) speak with Mrs Veide or Miss Robb
  6. No matter what your question or level of concern, do not leave the building without seeking advice or support from teachers/Miss Robb/Mrs Veide in the Academy – we are here to help!

Clearing

Should students need support to use UCAS’ clearing system, Academy leaders and staff will be available to help guide students through this process. Universities are already indicating what courses they have available for clearing vacancies but UCAS have the only official course vacancy list.
